Samantha The Cat Fairy

This is one of my friends in fur, Samantha the Maine Coon Cat. She is a garden flower cat fairy here on my self promotional postcard. Request one to be sent to you please. The original drawing is the size of a small postcard. It was done with Berol Prismacolor pencils on nine by twelve Strathmore Smooth 2 ply Bristol, 300 Series, 100LB. I scanned it in and had it digitally printed by Web Cards in Piscataway, New Jersey.

A larger drawing with many more flowers was featured as the cover art in the Spring 2000 edition of The Warren Showcase. That is a newsprint magazine local to Warren, New Jersey. It inspired my periodontist to recreate the flower garden outside his office door. He won a local gardening award for it. The larger drawing is titled Spring Symphony.

A drawing like this takes about 15 hours to complete. The larger drawing took about 30 hours. The shading on the translucent petals of the daffodills was the hardest part on the larger drawing. The orange chile pepper in the right upper corner is a habenero from my garden.
