This is the set from the Fairy Tale Theater. It is a large book that has been shaped and rounded to look like it has
fallen open to this page. I designed and painted the right side. A calligrapher created the left. It is oilcloth canvas, gesso, acrylic paint with a backing of outdoor
sign material and wood. Then waterproofed. It is at least eight or more feet high by four foot wide. There are blooming
pink dogwood, daisies, lavenders and echinacea. A Monarch, Tiger Swallowtail and several Purple Azure Butterflies flutter about.
The fairy on the rock lives in the high rise fairy house in the tree. A rabbit, chipmunk and grey squirrel have come to visit and
check out mushrooms.
There is a large, red fabric bookmark between the pages. It is a flap that hides an entrance to the backstage. |
