Take-Care Connections magazine coverThere was a monthly holistic magazine, Take-Care Connections. The August 2003 issue was on pets. I floated several ideas by the editor, and she chose this one. This was my favorite, too. There are many horse people in the Somerset, Hunterdon, Mercer and Warren county areas of New Jersey that this magazine served. The cat and dog appeal to those pet owners, too. Once again, my little Samantha has made a magazine cover. She is perched on the fence.

The background is the scene from the Gillette Patriots Trail parking lot at Schooley’s Mountain in Long Valley,
New Jersey. I added a silo to the barn so it was readily identifiable as a barn.
The drawing is eight by ten inches on Aquabee Bristol Pad, Plate Finish paper, colored with Berol Prismacolor and lead pencils.
It was scaled down to five by seven inches for the magazine cover.
